Advanced Automation and Robotics Drive Efficiency in the Corrugated Industry

Pentatech srl develops integrated automation and material handling solutions for the corrugated industry, focusing on robotics, flexibility and digitalization to improve productivity, quality and energy efficiency.

Pentatech srl is an Italian industrial partner specializing in the design and manufacture of automation and material handling solutions for the corrugated packaging industry. Founded in 2007, the company has experienced steady growth, building its identity on solid technical expertise, engineering flexibility and a strong customer-oriented approach. Its objective is clear: to develop reliable solutions that simplify production processes while improving efficiency and operational continuity. Pentatech’s portfolio includes peripheral equipment and integrated systems for the complete management of production lines. These include automatic and robotic feeding lines for flexographic printers and die-cutting machines (both rotary and flatbed), automatic and robotic palletizing systems, breaker lines, cleaning and stacking systems for printed and die-cut sheets, as well as WIP storage systems, multi-level warehouses and finished product handling lines. In addition to supplying machinery, the company offers a comprehensive range of services, including plant and layout design, electrical panel and software development, technical consulting, after-sales support and spare parts management. Every stage of the process—from engineering and manufacturing to final assembly—is managed in-house by a team of experienced professionals. With more than 1,000 installations across Europe, North Africa and the Middle East, Pentatech relies on a well-established network of qualified technicians capable of providing prompt support in major international markets.

Robotics and Automation: Key Innovations for 2025

In 2025, Pentatech focused its investments on integrating advanced robotics into feeding and palletizing lines. Among its latest developments are a robotic feeder equipped with an anthropomorphic robot arm and a palletizing station with robotic arms with two robots for flexographic lines producing american boxes.
The introduction of anthropomorphic robots represents a significant technological advancement, delivering higher energy efficiency, greater operational reliability and reduced maintenance complexity. Another major advantage is their versatility: the robotic feeder can supply both top-print and bottom-print machines through a simple software-controlled configuration change, minimizing setup times and increasing productivity.
The robotic feeder has been designed for integration with both mini-line and mid-line machines, while the palletizing station is available in several configurations to accommodate different flexographic machine types and formats. Complementing these solutions is the new PLP palletizer, developed to handle die-cut products from both rotary and flatbed die-cutters. Its key feature is the ability to palletize two product stacks simultaneously, significantly increasing production throughput.
These innovations are part of Pentatech’s ongoing commitment to continuously upgrading its product range in order to deliver increasingly efficient solutions that meet the evolving demands of the corrugated packaging market.
“At Pentatech, we believe that people and investment are the true driving forces behind innovation and the development of new solutions. With this vision in mind, we are pursuing a significant growth strategy that includes not only the expansion of our manufacturing facilities—with a new production building now nearing completion—but also the development and introduction of additional new machines, which we will unveil over the coming months, as well as further expansion into international markets,” says Daniele Benedetti, Sales Manager at Pentatech srl.

Efficiency, Quality and Digitalization

Within today’s corrugated box plants, the automation of internal logistics has become increasingly strategic. Investments supported by Industry 4.0 incentives have accelerated the adoption of highly interconnected and intelligent systems. At the same time, the growing variability of production batches and box formats requires machinery offering a high degree of flexibility and configurability. To meet these challenges, Pentatech has developed solutions that combine advanced functionality with exceptional ease of operation—an increasingly essential requirement for modern box plants. From a technical perspective, particular attention has been paid to preserving corrugated board quality during high-speed material handling. Replacing roller conveyors with belt conveyor systems has significantly reduced product damage while improving stability throughout the production line. These solutions are complemented by advanced electronic control systems that precisely manage acceleration and deceleration, ensuring smooth and controlled product movement. Energy efficiency is another key area of development. Intelligent control systems continuously adjust motor power according to actual operating requirements, reducing energy consumption without compromising machine performance. Equally important is the integration of material handling hardware with production management software. Thanks to Industry 4.0 enabling technologies, complete and automated traceability can now be ensured throughout the entire manufacturing process. Machine-generated data are automatically transferred to the company’s databases, enabling advanced production analysis and continuous performance improvement. At Pentatech, all software is developed in-house, customized to meet each customer’s specific requirements and thoroughly tested on every machine before delivery. The company’s engineering team also designs the operator interfaces and HMI graphics, ensuring intuitive and user-friendly machine control. “In a fast-moving world where operational continuity is essential, Pentatech continuously invests in efficient and responsive service and after-sales support, ensuring ongoing assistance and a constant presence alongside our customers,” comments Daniele Benedetti, Sales Manager at Pentatech srl. “The daily challenges faced by our customers are a constant source of inspiration, driving us to develop increasingly innovative solutions.” Combining extensive application expertise, continuous technological innovation and a strong customer focus, Pentatech has established itself as a strategic partner for corrugated packaging manufacturers seeking to optimize their production processes through advanced automation solutions.
